Colloidal systems comprise a large variety of different materials including dispersions, emulsions, foams or self-assembled structures in solution either synthetic or biological in origin. Their flow behaviour is a complex and still fascinating field of research where chemistry, biology, physics and engineering science meet.
We want to discuss the progress in this field and to promote the exchange of ideas between scientists working in different areas, especially in industry and academia. Therefore, the German Rheological Society and the German Colloid Society are organizing a joint symposium on "Rheology of Colloidal Systems" taking place in Karlsruhe, March 10-12, 2010.
Scientists active in this area of research are encouraged to submit a proposal, contributions from young investigators and industry are especially welcome. The meeting will have workshop character, there will be no parallel sessions, ample time will be provided for discussion.
In addition to the joint symposium a general session will be held in the morning of March 10 organized together with the ProcessNet subject divisions Interfacially dominated Systems and Processes , Mechanical Liquid Separation , Particle Measurement , Plant based Extracts, and Rheology , which will meet in the same location on March 9 and 10. |
